Now
I love the idea of a now page, so I decided to make my own

Double Working
This is still somehow not over? Let's tackle them one at a time.
Consulting is allowing me to flex those EE + SW muscles that I built up so hard over hte last decades. While I don't personally think I have the time or energy to tackle this at the levels I want all the time, it's been incredibly sticky and hard to put down (purely for selfish reasons!). Learning how to price optimize and be feature aggressive has been a enjoyable side gig. I do wish I could automate the boring parts a little more, but one or so weekend a month isn't the end of the world.
The other job is, well, different! $DAY_JOB() continues to challenge every pre-conception I had from my last one. I am struggling with figuring out the right way to adapt: there's some core personality traits for me that are either not necessary, or I'm supposed to scream them out 10x louder? Not that it's constant for all scenarios of course, but still. I'd hate to be all negative (or worse, vague) on here though. On the quick upsides though:
- It's very cool to come into a job and rapidly regain trust and autonomy. That's an A+ signal both ways
- It feels very cool to come into new tech stacks but still feel useful debugging across them
- Onshape is some really fun software and I quite enjoy using it
AI
I want to force myself to join the cacophany of takes on all this. I am overall:
- Thrilled that the marginal cost of one-off software is plummeting to zero
- Horrified that my peers spend double digit percentages of their days copying and pasting
I'll attempt to force myself to expand later. Perhaps a return to form?
Growth
Practice Pal feels like something I should close-out with AI. It's so close!
Unresolved is on the inter dot net. How freaking cool is that!
