Now
I love the idea of a now page, so I decided to make my own

(Kinda) Working
Consulting has been pretty fun and rewarding it turns out. I'm working on some consumer electronics projects: board bringup, firmware dev, and then the next spin. Some things were easier and some things were harder than I expected to shake the dust off, but nothing too crazy:
- Diving into Kicad is pretty easy! Turns out the tool has come along way or my Altium nostalgia isn't that large
- Consumer electronics catalog is great! After years of being banned from Digikey due to radiation woes, it's super refreshing seeing what's out there again
- Cost optimization is kind of fun! Famously not the focus in aerospace, but trying to save $0.10 here and there is a neat little mini game right now
- Real C isn't too bad! I never really had to go deep into writing C libraries, but writing basic chip drivers has been a great eye opener. Passing down handlers is boring, but for some reason typedef'd structs are much more satisyfing than
dataclasses
We'll see if I still think this is true when we hit the truly boring part (layout, heh)
(Soon) Working
But for a real gig, I found one too! Lots and lots and lots of interviewing. No spoilers yet.
Growth
Practice Pal hit the “now it's work” valley. I've paused it for a few weeks because the remaining stuff is all boring drudgery, not the fun part of UI's for my database. I hope to actually get it MVP app ready in a couple weeks.
Unresolved got in the studio and did our first recording session! It's pretty tense as the drummer, sure you can make edits, but at the end of the day, you have one job: make sure you're the perfect backing track. Everyone else is going to listen to you once they overdub vocals and solos. Crushed it though!! Being on a bit of a summer break afterwards is a pretty tough high-then-low, but everyone's having a blast. Can't wait to be on Spotify soon.

Oh yeah, that's the Halloween costume this year
